Home > Sectors > Waste, renewable energy and utilities Waste, renewable energy and utilitiesThe UK waste management sector is an exciting growth area for PPP, and we are Preferred Bidder with Viridor, a leading waste management group, for the Manchester Waste Management PPP project. The future pipeline for this sector could be very significant, driven by the need to meet EU waste reduction targets in the coming years. Our experience from other PPP sectors, including commercial structuring, technical and property related skills are being applied with our partner’s strong sector capabilities, to deliver competitive proposals. In addition to waste, we are active in other areas of the utilities sector. As part of the Hyder portfolio acquisition in 2001, we acquired interests in the Kinnegar Waste Water Treatment project in Northern Ireland, and also the London Underground Radio and Telecommunications project ‘Connect’. We are also actively bidding for opportunities in related areas such as renewable energy.
