During NovemberJohn Laing holds a competition for staff to nominate a charity to receive a donation of £5,000 from the John Laing Charitable Trust. This is in place of the Group sending Christmas greeting cards in by post, this will be our sixth Christmas in succession that a charity has benefited from the gift.
The rules are simple; the charitable cause has to be one the member of staff is involved with, one which they care passionately about and where the donation of £5,000 would make a huge difference.
Christmas, 2010 saw PASHA, providers of support and accommodation housing association, registered charity 1121914 receive the donation. The charity was nominated by staff member Terri Freeland, Project Coordinator at Corsham.
Each year, many worthwhile charities are nominated and the judges have a very difficult decision to make. The judging has just taken place for Christmas 2011 and the winner will be announced shortly.
