Groundwork UK is the UK's leading environmental regeneration charity. Groundworks enables an integrated, bottom up approach to regeneration, involving and empowering local people to care for their environment, utilising sustainable development as a catalyst for action and promoting excellence in the community partnerships in which they are engaged.

John Laing helped establish Groundwork Hertfordshire in 1983 and have continuously supplied Trustees to the Charity ever since. More recently John Laing's responsibility to manage the open space in the London Borough of Hounslow has created the opportunity to work with Groundworks Trust on a daily basis.
The John Laing Charitable Trust has supportedGroundwork Hertfordshire'swork to improve school grounds by offering a free design service and a limited amount of practical support to implement the agreed plans. All of the programmes include the involvement of children, staff and parents.
