Great Ormond StreetHospitalChildren's Charity has launched an exciting new project called Raising the Roof, aimed at the construction and property industry and its advisors.
Raising the Roof will make a lasting difference to the hospital's young patients by funding part of the redevelopment of the new Neurosciences Centre.
Great Ormond Street Hospital is the largest children's neurosciences centre in the UK, providing care for children with disabilities, tumours and diseases affecting the central nervous system, such as tumours of the brain and spinal cord, epilepsy and craniofacial disorders. It is also the largest centre for children needing brain surgery in the UK.
Despite the hospital being a centre of excellence, the neuroscience facilities are cramped, outdated and dispersed across the hospital, there is not the capacity to treat the increasing number of children who need help.
The new centre for neuroscience will mean that more children can receive the care they need.
The fundraising target is £3 million over three years and the John Laing Charitable Trust have committed to be a part of the project by donating £10,000 per year for the next three years.
Amazing things happen at Great Ormond StreetHospital every day and Raising the Roof is helping to keep the magic alive for its' very ill children and their families.
